Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Hiram OÜ (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on termimal.com (the “Platform”). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use comparable technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and server-side session identifiers. In this policy, “cookie” refers to all of these unless otherwise specified.
2. Legal basis
- Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the service you have requested (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and are exempt from consent under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC.
- All other cookies are set only after you give explicit, prior, opt-in consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), ePrivacy Art. 5(3)). You may withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
3. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Login session, CSRF protection, consent record | session, tt_cookie_consent, tt_anon_id, CSRF token | Session – 6 months |
| Functional | Remember theme, terminal layout, dismissed prompts | localStorage preference keys | Until cleared |
| Analytics | Aggregate, anonymous usage statistics (only if enabled) | Privacy-preserving telemetry | ≤ 30 days |
| Marketing | Referrer attribution on signup (only if enabled) | Referrer parameter | ≤ 30 days |
Analytics and Marketing are off by default and load only after you opt in.
4. Anti-abuse fingerprinting
In addition to cookies, we hash a small set of device and request attributes to detect abuse, account-sharing, and credential-stuffing. This is described in detail in section 8 of our Privacy Policy and is processed under legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). It is not a cookie and is not toggleable in the consent banner, but you may object at any time per Privacy Policy section 6.
5. How to manage cookies
You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — note that disabling strictly-necessary cookies will break login and other core functionality.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we add or remove cookies. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
